Alison Doody
Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish model and actress. Alison Doody made her feature film debut as a Bond girl on the set of A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she appeared as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody played Nazi sympathetic archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Other roles include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody became a model after the opportunity was offered by an aspiring photographer. She has since transformed into commercial modeling. Doody was determined to steer clear of glamour and nude roles, which was a principle she followed in her acting. In the event that she was brought to director's attention for an upcoming James Bond film, Doody accepted a minor role in A View to a Kill (1985). Doody was named one of the 12 most promising new Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was 18 years old in the role of Doody in Bond she was still the most youthful Bond girl to date. Another film from her early days played a tiny part in the film in a small role as IRA member Siobhan Donovan on A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she featured Mickey Rourke. Doody was a silent actor in the 1987 version from The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream bride Lilias. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, she played Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress acted alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) prior to taking possibly her most famous role in her career as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser and archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as a co-star with Harrison Ford. Doody is a part of the James Bond family, having acted along with Sean Connery and Jonathan Pryce in 1989's Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. In 1991 Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. Following her move to Hollywood, Doody became a star. The actress later became Flannery the agent of Charlie Sheen as well as her girlfriend on the set of Major League II. She was chosen to be the replacement for Cybill Shepherd, who was once L'Oreal's spokeswoman. After almost a decade away from the stage Doody was back in the acting world with a small role in 2003 British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the awards ceremony scene. The roles she played include the TV movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines in 2004, a booklet about the Holocaust as well as a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody appeared on Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. She guested in RTE's medical drama The Clinic. The project was later shelved. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. She also appeared on the show in 2014 as We Still Kill the Old Way. The Almeria the tierra de film prize was awarded to her on November 21 the 21st of November, 2018. In addition, she was awarded one of the stars on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
